I was having problems receiving messages so I logged out to sign in again and now it wont allow me to sign in.

Seriously people? Asking for my phone number to create a new account? Really? The whole point of a messenger app is to able to text with people because...oh I dont know...you DONT HAVE A PHONE. Basically this app is useless. Completely and utterly useless. I cant create a new account cause I dont have an active phone number, so I strongly suggest the team gets on it and lets people log in with email. I mean seriously, I dont even understand your thought process. *person developing yahoo messenger app* hmm now I have a great Idea! How about instead of being normal and letting them sign up with email, how about we make them sign up with their phone number! *cue evil laughter* that way everyone that doesnt have an active phone number will never be able to sign up!! *cue more evil laughter*

Does not work, and I wonder if yahoo is even in the social aspects that used to be part of its core business anymore.

When conversing with someone lucky enough to have the older version of YIM, I cant get the emoticons...just the keyboard shortcut components. Also having a hard time receiving messages. Some never come and some come late. And forget sending a pic. No need to unsend if it was never sent in the first place.

This app is really bad about reliable message delivery! Messages delivered out of order! Not delivering for hours!!!! Pictures sent but disappear on my end. No way to know if messages were delivered or read. Yahoo youve really dropped the ball in recent years. No wonder the ship is going down fast!!

I have been waiting for them to rerelease the app since they took the original one down without warning. Dont waste your time. I deleted it after about five minutes. Your original friends list? Gone. Emojis? Gone. The ability to message a cellular number? Gone. So why did I need this again? At least kik managed to make a usable app.

Your last update did less then you intended it to do. I no longer can use my updated apple product with your app. The app locks up and doesnt send messages anymore. What were you thinking when you made an app for the phones. My iPad works still just the phone doesnt work. Please fix it or I will skype

Im surprised that Yahoo allows such a failure.

Seriously this is the worst upgrade I have ever seen in my life. If I could give it less than one star I would. I can see my friends online but no one can see when I message them. Whats the point? And even if they see me I cant send photos or anything else. Very dissatisfied.

Its not letting me sign in. It keeps saying to retry even though it has my account info open. Please fix!!!

This update is worthless. I liked the fact that when I used my phone the yahoo IMS would be incorporated into my standard IM app. I dont like that I can see my friends, I have to invite them. I originally did not get any notifications so I deleted the app and reinstalled. Now I do but I cant customize them. This app is the worst. I will have to jump off yahoo and use something else.

Horrible new version. What happened to the colors? This baby blue is just gross. I also dont like that I cant see who is online and who isnt. Virtually no settings makes this app a dinosaur.

Looks nice, but thats about it. Wiped out all my old contacts. Lists spam email Ive received as contacts, lol. Loss of basic functions like ability to see whos online. Not receiving any notifications of messages when received. Total flop.

Yahoo took three steps backward with this update. I no longer have my entire friends list and I just cant stand the appearance and interface. This is unacceptable.

Hate it! how can you update the app and be an entirely different app? dumb! deleted!

Ever since the new app came out I havent had nothing but problems. The latest updates just made it worse. Lost all my contacts on my mobile list!

This app is almost useless. Heres a list of problems it has: You cant send or receive pictures or videos. It says you can, and it will look like youve sent it, but the other person will never receive the file. If you type an emoji - even 1 - in a message the person who receives it will only see the message for a split second before it disappears. Someone will be messaging you, but you will not receive those messages instantly but in a clump all at once 4 hours later. I sent a message at 10:20pm went to check messenger again at 12:20 - a bunch of messages time stamped from 8:57 and 9:57 showed up totally out of chronological order. When I logged onto messenger online all these messages were in the correct chronological order. Obviously the fault of the app. Since you cant access yahoo messenger in safari on your iPhone Ill honestly say if you have to use this app it would be more efficient to carry around your laptop opened to the messenger website using your phone as a hot spot. The app is THAT bad.

You cant see when anyone is online, so its just message tag. Half the time I cannot even tell when messages go through. Not having it for iPhone and then getting this made me wish I just never got it.

I cant edit my contacts through my phone app.
